Facility Manager Guidelines

Take proper precautions to limit disease transmission in your facility.

In Your Waiting Area

Prepare a well-defined and separate waiting area for suspected cases

Post information, like posters or pamphlets, that remind patients and visitors to practice good respiratory and hand hygiene

Throughout your Healthcare Centre

Be alert for anyone that may have symptoms such as cough, fever, shortness of breath, and difficulty breathing

Have alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water handwashing stations readily available for healthcare workers, patients and visitors

Managing Patient Placement

Immediately isolate suspected and confirmed cases

Isolate confirmed and suspected cases in separate rooms

If possible, put patients in single rooms

Maintain at least a 1-metre, or 3 feet, distance between all patients

DO NOT put more than 1 patient in a single hospital bed

Managing the Environment

Limit the movement of patients to reduce potential infection

Perform regular environmental cleaning and disinfection

Perform regular environmental cleaning and disinfection

Maintain good ventilation – open doors and windows

Managing Visitors

Limit the number of visitors per person

All visitors should wear PPE and maintain a 1-meter, or 3 feet, distance

Record all visits
