What is Spotlight?

Spotlight is an initiative started by the European Union (EU) and the United Nations (UN) to eliminate all forms of violence against women and girls worldwide. The overall vision of the Spotlight Initiative in Zimbabwe is that women and girls realize their full potential in a violence-free, gender-responsive and inclusive Zimbabwe. Under the Spotlight Initiative, the Government of Zimbabwe, with support from UNICEF, is strengthening its prevention and response to violence against women and girls, with a focus on sexual gender-based violence.
